Aiglon College

A small Swiss village in the Canton Waters known for its cosy Chalet, great ski slopes and schools, one of which - Aiglon College is one of the best in the world.

History

The school was founded by the English architect John Carleton. Corlette taught at a private school in Scotland, Gordonstoun, and had based many of the ideas of the institution, founded by the famous German educator Kurt Hahn. The internationalization, the pursuit of learning about other cultures, responsibility, service to society and setting ourselves a difficult task - these are the principles of the school Gordonstoun took Corlette to create their own educational institutions.


Initially took only Aiglon boys, but in 1968 the school moved to coeducation.

Notable alumni: English actress, writer and environmentalist Sheherazade goldsmith, psycholinguist françois Grosjean, the crown Prince Leka of Albania, American actress Laura Herring, American singer and musician Alan Merrill, inventor and musician Roger field, Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Language of instruction: English as a mandatory second language all students study French.

The training program

Lessons in the school Aiglon on the British model, the last two classes - international baccalaureate (International Baccalaureate, IB). Also have the opportunity to prepare for the American SAT exam, the results of which are taken into account in admissions to US universities.

Admission requirements

The school accepts applications throughout the year. The academic year usually begins in August, but new students can start their studies in January or April.

The process of admission to Aiglon consists of several stages. You will need:

Contact admissions by phone, email or fill in the application form on the website (in the form, you specify basic information about incoming and contacts parents). You will be able to talk about their child, ask questions, and to schedule a visit to the school. 
To attend school. Usually the visits take place during school hours from Monday to Friday. This allows the child and parents to become familiar with the institution.
To schedule your interview. During the visit, the school representatives Aiglon communicate with the child to better understand how well the school and candidate are right for each other.
To pass the exams. The examinations are taken during the visit to the campus. Applicants take English language, maths and an IQ test. All exams are conducted in English. Applicants for whom English is not the native language must also pass an entrance exam in English as a foreign language. If necessary, the school may offer preparatory language courses (paid extra) and pass an exam on knowledge of English (IELTS or Cambridge certificate).
5.To pay the registration fee in the amount of 2 thousand francs. Parents of new students are also required to make a Deposit in the amount of 13 thousand francs.

Cost of training: from 69800 to 97280 francs, depending on the class. Cost includes tuition, accommodation in guest house, meals and Laundry services, as well as basic educational materials, mandatory sports and cultural activities (except the optional).
